08 - 24 square wonton wrappers
09 - Water for sealing

→ Serving

10 - Sweet chili sauce or soy sauce for dipping
11 - Chopped fresh chives or coriander

# How to Make It:

01 - In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, spring onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, and salt. Mix until smooth and well combined.
02 - Place a wonton wrapper on a clean, dry surface. Spoon approximately 1 teaspoon of filling into the center.
03 - Dip your fingertip in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper. Fold into a triangle, pressing out any air and sealing the edges tightly.
04 - Bring the two bottom corners of the triangle together and seal with water to form a traditional wonton shape.
05 - Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling until all wontons are formed.
06 - Preheat your air fryer to 350°F for 3 minutes.
07 - Lightly spray or brush the wontons with oil. Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if necessary.
08 - Air fry for 7 to 8 minutes, turning halfway through cooking, until golden and crispy.
09 - Serve hot with sweet chili sauce or your preferred dipping sauce.

# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • They're ready in under 40 minutes, making them perfect for unexpected guests or when you need an impressive appetizer fast.
  • The air fryer method means your kitchen won't smell like a deep-fryer for days, and you'll feel a little less guilty about indulgence.
02 -
  • Wet edges are non-negotiable—I once tried to seal a wonton without wetting the edges properly, and it opened up mid-fry like a little pouch, spilling filling everywhere.
  • The halfway turn is the difference between wontons that are crispy on one side and sad on the other, so set a timer and don't skip it.
03 -
  • Buy your wonton wrappers from an Asian market instead of the supermarket—they're fresher, cheaper, and actually stay soft long enough to work with without drying out.
  • Make the filling up to two days ahead and store it in the fridge, then fill and fry on game day so you're doing minimal work when people arrive.
